As Ogis Engineering celebrated its 60th year in business on the 24th of June 2023, we take a moment to reflect on the journey that has brought us to where we are today.
Our humble beginnings making souvenirs and crafting shop fittings for high-end clothing retailers hardly hinted at the expansive and diverse company that we are now. Over time, we have grown to support many different industries, including transport (passenger trains, locomotives, buses, and vehicles for the disabled), mining, infrastructure, commercial fit-outs, architecture, defence, and broader manufacturing.
From our small factory of 100 square metres located in St Peters, we have moved several times over the years. In 1976 the Rushcutters Bay factory was destroyed by fire. The business was rebuilt and started specialising in the manufacture of furniture frames and display stands.Today, we have settled into our current facility of 2000 square metres in Milperra. This move has allowed us to broaden our capabilities and invest in new technology to better serve our customers.
Speaking of investments, we are proud to have embraced CNC machinery in mandrel tube bending, milling, robot welding, laser cutting, and other areas of manufacturing. These improvements not only allow us to produce quality products more efficiently, but they also help us to remain cost-effective for our customers.
Throughout our 60 years in business, we have been committed to providing exceptional service and quality products to our customers. We couldn’t have made it this far without the incredible support of our loyal customers, dedicated team members, and partners in the industry.
As we look back on our journey so far, we’re excited about the future and all the new opportunities that it will bring. We remain committed to innovation, excellence, and customer satisfaction. From simple tube bending pieces to complicated welded assemblies that require specialist welders and testing, Ogis continues to excel. Thank you for your continued support, and cheers to another 60 years!
